After losing Sunni (our sheltie) earlier this spring as well as having a flood in the basement, we decided that we would invest in new flooring for our basement as well as the main level of the house. Our poor carpet had suffered through five geriatric pets, numerous children, lots of spills, and we could no longer scrub out the massive stains. We replaced the basement carpet in the beginning of June, but the renovation of our main floor began on June 29. However, before Emmy left for art camp, she and Ellie-Kate said good-bye to the old kitchen flooring. It served us well for nearly 11 years :) After the men finished their work, though, we just can't wait for the hard wood to be installed during the week of July 5!
