Busy times... February 20, 2014

Hi everyone--

Wow, what a hectic 20 days... I've been to DC and California, and, as I type this post, the main floor of our house is cluttered with 153 cases of Girl Scout cookies, and Britti is visiting Chelsea in Texas. Once again, we have been living a "life comes at you fast" commercial.

Here's hoping that we can start to get caught up soon. I have lots of pictures to share, and I'll do so in the next few days.

Happy Engagement Anniversary-- February 2, 2014

Around 7 a.m. on February 2, 1999, Roger came over to my house and proposed. He had to catch me before a busy day, and he wanted to be able to remember our engagement anniversary. Well, we certainly do! I carried those red roses around all day long :)

Now, 15 years later, we shared our anniversary with Ellie-Kate's birthday party and church, but we got out for a dinner at Casa-- right before we got hit with a snow storm... As I'm typing this message, the snow is dumping-- AGAIN. We're under a Winter Storm Warning, with forecasts predicting up to seven inches of snow.

Anyway, we had a very nice anniversary, and we're so glad that Ellie-Kate was able to have her party. She truly appreciated everything. At home tonight, she said, "I wish that you guys only had one kid." "Which kid," we asked? "ME" she exclaimed! We explained the benefits of older siblings, and she nodded, but it's so cool to see how much that she loves us.. because we love HER more than words.

Happy Groundhogs Day-- only six more weeks of winter :)

Ellie-Kate's birthday celebration at school-- 1/31/14

Ellie-Kate had to wait a week due to all of the snow days, but she finally got to go back to school and celebrate her sixth birthday with her kindergarten friends. She loved her special hat, pin, certificate, and pencil. True be told, Ellie-Kate wasn't thrilled about getting up and going to school, after seven lazy snow days in a row at home. However, all of the special attention was definitely worth it! Although we originally planned to send cupcakes (and we made a double-batch due to school and scouts), Ellie-Kate asked for cookies this time... Yup, we're all getting tired of cake after the wasted cupcakes and party cake...
