Happy Family Day!!

Seven years ago, at 9:29 a.m., we held Ellie-Kate in our arms for the very first time. I praise God for the care that she received before she joined our family, for allowing her to overcome early physical challenges, and for the incredible blessing in our lives that Ellie-Kate continues to be every minute since our very first Family Day. The following photos contain sweet memories of our very first Family Day-- March 23, 2009.

Seven Years Ago... March 22, 2016

Seven years ago today, we were more than ready to transition from being tourists in Beijing (even though the Great Wall was pretty amazing) to finally meeting Ellie-Kate on the following morning. After we landed in Kunming, we were eager for something familiar so we sought out a pizza place. Pizza da Rocco's became our favorite restaurant in Kunming. Seven years ago tonight, we had our last dinner as a family of five at Rocco's and returned the next night for Ellie-Kate's first supper with us. What amazing memories...

Seven years ago... March 17, 2016

Hi everyone--

I can't wait to get caught up on the blog. I really miss blogging, but life has continued to be hectic, even though I'm trying to slow down and savor more...

However, I couldn't let today pass by without remembering where we were seven years ago... Seven years ago, we were in the Hampton at the Columbus airport, eagerly anticipating our 6 a.m. flight to DC and then to China.

Seven years ago tonight, we left our home as a family of five, and we would return three weeks later as a family of six. As we tried to get some sleep in our hotel room that night (before our 6 a.m. flight the next day), we couldn't begin to imagine the beautiful baby who would join our family just six days later... Grateful for precious memories of an amazing trip to China, for the friendships that began in Kunming, and, of course, for the baby who has grown into a funny, athletic, smart, and kind second grader-- our amazing Ellie-Kate!

More soon--

Christie
