Camps, camps, camps...

Hi Everyone--

Last week was really odd... For the first time since we've had Ellie-Kate, all three of the older girls were away from her for four days. Britti was a hill supervisor, and Chelsea was a camp counselor at 4-H camp at Tar Hollow State Park. Both of them have been going for years, and I realized that I was celebrating my 15th year of driving kids to Tar Hollow (about an hour and 15 minute away). The older two went on Wednesday to set up the camp, and Emmy joined them for her very first year as a camper on Thursday. Roger, Ellie, and I promptly spent the next four days diving for the phone (in case of emergency) and looking at the camp schedule to imagine what they were doing. The three of us had a nice time at home, but, wow, it was sooooo quiet!!

I picked up the girls on Sunday morning and then drove up to Wooster to drop off Chelsea at tennis camp. Needless to say, all of them were exhausted but filled with great memories of a special camp. They had three hours to bring me up to speed as we drove from Tar Hollow to Wooster, and Britti, Emmy, and I then had three hours on the road back to Athens. After seven hours on the road, I was ready to be out of a car and back with three of four girls safely in our house.

Chelsea will be at Wooster until Thursday, and Emmy is doing a soccer day camp here in Athens until then as well. After camps, it's full steam ahead on finishing up 4-H projects and getting ready for the fair. We cannot WAIT for Ellie-Kate to go to her first Ohio State Fair and Athens County Junior Fair. (On a side note, I'm excited to share that all eight of the baby market rabbits seem to be doing just fine up in our playroom, even though they did not like being "tattooed" on Wednesday at the fairgrounds.)

Hope that everyone is having a great summer! I'll post more pictures as soon as I can :)
