FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! June 16, 2014

After Britti's wedding, I launched, full steam ahead, into finishing up a book project on celebrity health narratives. The book had been in the pipeline for nearly 17 years, but the project really got rolling when I amassed a team of four other people (three former grad students and one new colleague) as co-authors. We landed a contract with McFarland Publishers in March, 2013, and the book was due on May 15, 2014. Unfortunately, I couldn't really do what I needed to do in April because of the wedding so every second of my life after the wedding (except when I was doing something with another kid, finishing up classes, starting online classes, and co-organizing the 8th grade graduation party, of course) on the book. After weeks of not really sleeping and eating, I was FINALLY able to send the book to the publisher. What an amazing sense of relief!!! It's a good book, but, after the intensity of the preceding year, relief was the best way to describe my emotions in fulfilling (albeit late) our contractual agreement :)

Trixie's first bath-- June 14, 2014

Trixie managed to roll in something smelly in the yard. Fortunately, she didn't seem *too* unhappy with her bath :)

4-H Dog Clinic-- June 14, 2014

Emmy and Trixie participated in the first annual Athens County 4-H Dog Clinic. Trixie is such a cute, fun dog, but, at times, the lingering "puppy" comes out. Given that we don't really know how old that she is, we definitely see "little kid" and "old soul" in her behavior :)

Clicker training-- June 10, 2014

Emmy and Trixie had their very first clicker training session on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. It really helped Trixie to focus on basic obedience skills :)
