Emmy presented her project at District Science Fair on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Originally, we thought that Emmy did really well. Usually, competitors are dismissed in waves, and the longer that they stay in the building, the better. Emmy stayed until nearly the very end so Roger and I were excited. However, as soon as I walked in, Emmy told me that she was only judged once. All competitors with a superior rating get judged more than once, competing for various prizes. Our hunch was right. We didn't hear Emmy's name at the awards, and we learned that she earned an Excellent. Emmy had such amazing success in 6th grade, and she was hoping for a repeat performance. She was very disappointed, but, to her credit, she's already talking about what she can do next year. Way to go, Emmy!
