Hi everyone--
Just when I think that life is settling down a bit... WHISSSSHHH! It picks right back up again. I'm typing this entry on a very rare day... On the one hand, it was a big day... Roger gave the keynote speech at the New York State Communication Association conference. Emmy had her first homecoming dance. Ellie-Kate went to a birthday party. On the other hand, I was grateful for three hours at home to clean the house. Now, we skipped going to the OU game (and didn't use the discount tickets that we already bought) to do so, but we were HOME. Emmy and Ellie-Kate played quietly. I did dishes and tidied up so our house wouldn't look gross to Emmy's friends (and their parents) when they came over for homecoming prep and pics. It. was. nice.
We're often asked how we do it... All of the activities... all of the commitments... All of the work.. all of the scheduling... Over the past several months, we haven't done it well. In just this past week, I haven't gone to bed before midnight. Last night, I went to bed just before 3 a.m.
I yearn to be able to blog more. I share our story through micro-blogging (facebook), but I really like to journal here... to reflect on all of the cool things that are happening in our lives, and, yes, absolutely, a plethora of "cool things" occur on a daily basis. I treasure moments like tonight... when I can (or, at least in the case of tonight, just do) pause to share "what's up" in the life of our crazy-busy family.
As I write this note, I ask that you pray for safe travel for our family... Chelsea traveled to Arkansas with friends for the Baylor fall break. Please pray that she gets back to campus safely tomorrow. Roger drove to upstate New York for his speaking engagement. Please pray that he gets back home to us, safe and sound, tomorrow as well.
Thanks for all of your interest in our family. Now, off to continue catching up the blog by turning back to July for more pictures and memories.
Fondly--
Christie
