Hi everyone--
Wow... wow... It's been seven weeks since Britti's wedding, and those weeks have been an intense, overwhelming blur. The wedding? It was an amazingly beautiful, incredible ceremony and lovely reception, followed by an early trip home the very next morning for Ellie-Kate's softball double-header, Ramon's graduation party and then frantic work to finish my book, Emmy's 8th grade trip to Washington, DC, Ellie-Kate's end of the year activities, Emmy's student council election (Freshman Class Secretary--YAY!), Chelsea's end of the semester at Baylor, Britti's 4-H work, Emmy's 8th grade graduation and party, my NCA stuff, Ellie-Kate's final parade and luncheon as Miss Chauncey-Dover 2nd Attendant, Girl Scout overnight trips and award ceremonies, 4-H deadlines-- did I mention that we adopted a new dog right before Britti's wedding?
People have sometimes commented that they don't know how I do it. First and foremost, I don't do it alone-- nothing happens without God permitting the opportunities and, here on Earth, Roger and the girls working together to help. However, I have to admit that the past seven weeks have pushed me to my limit and beyond. I can't really in good conscience say that it's been "tough." No one has been ill; we have good jobs and an awesome home, accomplished and gifted children, blessed in so many ways-- personally and professionally. Yet, my arms are metaphorically weary from juggling, and I was very glad to come home yesterday after the Daisy Girl Scout overnight at the zoo, look at the calendar, and see white space-- time to sleep, catch up, blog, breathe... I'm excited to exercise, clean, and go through the literally hundreds of photos that we have taken during and since the wedding.
Thank you for caring about our family! Here's to catching up, one photo at a time :)
