Emmy was in the middle of a hot race for Freshman Class Secretary, and one of her opponents treated classmates to suckers right before the election. Thus, we decided to make these treats (Christie cookies with a campaign note), and Emmy handed them out on the steps of the middle school as students entered the building on the morning of what we thought would be the election. Unfortunately, the election didn't happen on Tuesday, May 20. Thus, on the day of the re-scheduled election (May 23,), Emmy handed out stickers "Today is the Day-- Vote Emmy Beck-Aden for Secretary." Fortunately, she won the hard-fought election, and we are thrilled that she is going to be the freshman class secretary next year :)
