When I heard that we would be keeping "Mr. Lizard," Mrs. Watson's class pet, for a week as part of Ellie-Kate's turn as Student of the Week, I have to admit that I was more than a bit nervous about adding this new creature to our crazy lives. Words can't describe my relief when I actually met Mr. Lizard. Let's just say that I'm very grateful that Mr. Lizard turned out to be cuddly instead of clammy :)

Playing with pandas ... November 13, 2013

Ellie-Kate and Mommy had a BLAST on a rare day when we had absolutely nothing to do except PLAY!! Ellie-Kate, Mommy, and the pandas all had a great pretend trip to DisneyWorld :)

Ellie-Kate is Mrs. Watson's class Student of the Week-- November 11, 2013!

Daddy, Ellie-Kate, and Mommy-- Given that Ellie-Kate got to be Student of the Week on this particular week, both of us had Veteran's Day off of the university. Because we alternate our teaching schedules, this day was literally the only one in the school year on which we could both join Ellie-Kate for lunch. Thus, we both gladly took in the Veteran's Day parade (even though it was a bit cold!) and then drove over to Morrison-Gordon to eat lunch with Ellie-Kate. We brought her lunch from McDonald's, and we enjoyed great conversation with Ellie-Kate, Mrs. Watson, and Ellie-Kate's classmates. Throughout the week, Ellie-Kate shared photos from her trips to Baylor and DisneyWorld with her classmates, and she also got to take care of the class pet...
