Daisy Girl Scout Olympics-- May 9, 2014

The Daisy Girl Scouts had an awesome time at our Daisy Olympics. We ran races and learned about sportsmanship.

Mommy's little helper... May 8, 2014

Ever since the wedding, Christie moved full-steam ahead on finishing the celebrity health narrative book. With a May 15 deadline looming, every second of attention shifted from wedding mode to book mode, and Trixie pitched in as Helper-in-Chief :) Even though her cute pose was a bit distracting, she was such a comfort during a long writing day...

Opening presents... May 4, 2014

Britti and Ramon came over to our house after spending the day in Columbus with his parents before their flight. Because they didn't open presents at the wedding reception, they opened them on Sunday evening with us. My goodness, their family and friends were incredibly generous!!

Emmy's band concert-- May 4, 2014

The blur continued... After staying up late with Ramon's graduation party, Christie got up at 5 a.m. and drove Chelsea up to the airport for her 9 a.m. flight back to Texas. Meanwhile back in Athens, the cousins played for a bit more before leaving for Indiana. At the same time, Britti and Ramon accompanied his family during a day in Columbus prior to their flight back to El Paso. By noon, our house felt so quiet... although cluttered with remnants from the prior 10 days of travel, dance recital, wedding, and grad/birthday party. Although we all wanted to relax, we pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps, so to speak, and got Emmy over to Athens High School for the All Band Concert at 3 p.m. The middle school played beautifully :)

On the way out of the dessert reception in the AHS cafeteria, we spotted this flyer on the cafeteria door. The flyer featured the ad that we placed in Chelsea's senior yearbook :)

And life keeps marching right on... May 3, 2014

After staying up until around 1 a.m., cleaning up after Britti and Ramon's wedding reception, we got right back up at 6:30 a.m., grabbed donuts at Tim Horton's in Marietta, and drove back to Athens for Ellie-Kate's softball games. She had already missed games for the dance recital and the wedding rehearsal dinner so we really wanted for her to be able to play today. After not touching a softball bat for nearly two weeks, she walked right out on the field and smacked the ball. Fortunately, she was able to reclaim her spot (#2) in the batting order, and she even got a chance to play second base-- her first time in the infield all season! Very glad that we drove back early for her games :)
