Lunch with Santa at the Athens Community Center-- 12/7/13

Ellie-Kate and Emmy sit on Santa's lap before lunch. Santa needed to eat a little more... While we were eating lunch, we glanced at him walking around, and we saw that his pants had slipped down. Fortunately, we discovered that Santa was wearing sweats under his outfit!

Nelsonville Snowflake Festival-- December 7, 2013

Braving temperatures in the teens, Ellie-Kate and Miley participated in the Nelsonville Snowflake Festival Parade. The older girls didn't even come to the parade, but the girls cuddled in their blankets and waved at the sparse crowd. Ellie-Kate was supposed to do the longer Logan parade that afternoon, but, blessedly, Kevin excused the girls due to the extreme weather. Good job, Ellie-Kate and Miley!!

Model UN-- 2013-- December 6, 2013

Lily, Sery, Hania, Yu-Shin, and Emmy celebrate their Outstanding Nation Award at Model UN. The team represented Turkey in the competition. We were SO glad that we were able to be there for the moment! Originally, Christie was supposed to go from working at Santa's Workshop to leading a Daisy Girl Scout meeting. Instead, she did the Santa's Workshop and then picked up Ellie-Kate early from school, due to an early release prompted by the prediction of an ice storm. We really did get the ice storm, but Model UN didn't let out in time. Fortunately, we were able to inch home on sheets of ice on streets after celebrating this wonderful way for Emmy to close out her two years of Model UN.

First basketball game versus Meigs-- 12/5/13

Emmy's first 8th grade basketball game versus Meigs... Emmy played the whole game as point guard, and Ellie-Kate had fun as Junior Scorekeeper on the bench while Daddy kept the books.
